All I Want is You..
I just finally got to Best Buy with my giftcard and picked up some CD's: The new Blink182, new Catch22, and Let it Be...Naked.
Now if you know me thats no shocker, I'm known as the "Beatles Guy" to most of my friends, hell my one friend Robin seemed almost shocked when she heard I didn't have it yet the other night but if you just read my blog(as I am finding out that not all of my readers are from the Scranton area..kinda freaky but Im thrilled to have people from all over read this, thats why its hear) you may think of it as odd for me to like the Beatles because most of my titles come from either some punk/ska derivative or "gangsta rap." And it's true, its not much like me to love a band like the Beatles but I think I can explain:
1) They are just an amazing group, I don't think anyone can disagree with me here. If you do I think I can point something out to make you wrong, or at the very least argue with you till you give up.
2) My Mom: We don't have as much common ground any more as we used to but we still have and always will have this. She was first to make me listen to the Beatles and I know she will be thrilled to hear this new cd as much as I was to buy it. We can always listen to the Beatles together.
3) Memories: So many of these revolve around the Beatles. Most of my memories revolve around songs but some of the best revolve around the Beatles. I remember summer nights with one girl when I first got a car...driving around my old blue 87' plymoth horizon and making out to "Sexy Sadie" as like it was yesterday. I remember coming home in the car a few years later and with another girl listening to Let It Be and Sgt. Pepper's and just driving the country roads. I can just relate so much of my life to certain Beatles songs that I could never stop listening to them.
As for my epic post...it's mostly done. I don't think I'm gonna post it though. If anyone really wants to read a shitload of pages about what I think made me who and what I am today leave me some comments or drop me an email and maybe I'll fill ya in, otherwise just wait till I finish my book, "That's Awfull: The life and times of Scott Pearson," Actually I lost that file a long time ago...but it was a great book..maybe I'll start it over again.
